

Phnom Penh, on 16th July 2025, FTB and the General-Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee (GS-DEBC) signed an MoU to support the registration of Cambodia’s informal economy population through the Digital Platform for Informal Economy Development to encourage and support the registration of informal economy population.
The signing ceremony was presided over by H.E. HEM Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation and H.E. Dr. Kong Marry, Secretary of State, Ministry of Economy and Finance and Secretary General, General Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee, with distinguished guests from the management and teams of FTB.


This signing enables FTB as a key facilitator in supporting voluntary registration on the digital platform for informal economic development. Cambodian citizens can conveniently access this service at any FTB branch, where it will be provided responsibly, professionally, and at no cost. FTB remains committed to actively cooperating in the broad dissemination of public information through both online and offline channels as well as continue to invest in enhancing staff capabilities to ensure the highest standards of quality and security across information technology systems. Registration within the informal economy is voluntary and conducted without coercion or intimidation. Upon registering, individuals will be eligible to receive a range of benefits and support from the Royal Government, including, a government-recognized certificate confirming registration as an informal economy worker, opportunities to strengthen technical and professional skills through tailored training programs , access to formal financial services, such as credit facilities and investment capital for business expansion, eligibility to participate in the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and timely and targeted assistance during periods of crisis as well as free healthcare services via the Health Equity Fund.


Registration for the informal economy population can be completed through two options, the Informal Economy Development Platform (Cam-IE), developed and managed by the General-Secretariat of the Digital Economy and Business Committee and at any FTB branches.
