Manager, Mortgage Office/Unit

Manager, Mortgage Office/Unit is responsible for leading the mortgage lending function, including planning and executing strategies to grow the home loan portfolio. Manages day-to-day operations, supports branch sales teams, ensures compliance with credit policies, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery and product offerings.

Main Duties

• Drive mortgage loan growth by leading the sales team to meet lending targets, developing effective sales strategies, and expanding the client base;
• Identify new market opportunities, conduct market research, and actively engage in community and networking events to enhance visibility;
• Build strong relationships with potential clients, including Borey developers, and promote mortgage products to support portfolio growth and long-term customer engagement;
• Oversee the mortgage loan portfolio to ensure quality, profitability, and compliance with risk and regulatory standards;
• Provide input on credit appraisals, evaluate loan applications, and prepare pre-deal documentation. Monitor disbursements, collections, and portfolio performance, including default rates and loan concentrations;
• Work closely with recovery and legal teams on default cases, and generate regular reports to support risk management and strategic decision-making;
• Oversee the implementation of lending principles, standard risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and motivate the mortgage team by setting clear goals, providing coaching, and tracking performance;
• Facilitate training on mortgage lending and soft skills development to strengthen team capabilities. Collaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure smooth loan processing and approvals;
• Actively engage in team meetings to share feedback, improve processes, and drive continuous improvement;
• Build and maintain a high-performing, collaborative team environment,
• Manage day-to-day mortgage operations, and handling customer inquiries or complaints;
• Ensure compliance by maintaining accurate loan documentation and supporting audits or regulatory reviews;
• Monitor interest rates and market trends to support business decisions;
• Manage the smooth execution of a variety of tasks across operations and administration;
• Monitor and manage non-performing loans by collaborating with collections and recovery teams to minimize losses, developing early delinquency intervention strategies, and enhancing risk mitigation measures to improve portfolio quality;
• Prepare business proposal packs for submission to the CEO and Credit Committee and present portfolio performance, and growth strategies in management meetings when required;
• Other duties as assigned by the Management.

Skills/ Experiences

• Bachelor’s degree in finance and banking, business administration, or other related fields
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail banking with a minimum of one year in a managerial capacity.
• Strong credit evaluation and analysis skills.
• Strong financial literacy.
• Competence in assessing and mitigating credit risks, handling defaults, and managing delinquent accounts.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with various business units.
• ​ Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership experience with a strong ability to manage teams and drive performance.
• Problem-solving skills are vital for addressing challenges and finding effective solutions in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills are vital for driving business growth.
• Computer literacy; in particular, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
